And today, Kidde is part of the Fire & Security division of United Technologies Corporation (UTC) which is a diversified company whose products also include Carrier heating and air conditioning, Hamilton Sundstrand aerospace systems and industrial products, Otis elevators and escalators, Pratt & Whitney aircraft engines, Sikorsky helicopters and UTC Power fuel cells. In the UK, Kidde Safety offers a full range of essential home safety products that includes smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers and fire blankets. Kidde's CO (Carbon Monoxide) alarms are considered the 'best money can buy' with selected models carrying a digital display and peak level memory features. Kidde purchased market leader Nighthawk in 1996 to compliment its expanding family of protection products.
